A book of minnitts belonging to the Meeting of a peopel called Quakers in Charleston, So. Carolina, 1719, 1718-1910.

Typewritten transcript copy (1910) of the minutes of meetings and other transactions (1719-1769) of the Quakers in Charleston (S.C.). Includes "An introduction to the following minutes" by William Piggott. The volume contains minutes of meetings (1718 Aug 8-1884) and records of marriages (1715-1750), births (1708-1769), and burials (1715-1769). Inserted into the minutes after the volume was bound are extracts from the diary of John Smith of Philadelphia concerning the visit of Sophia Hume to Philadelphia. Letter (1910) attached inside front cover is from George Vaux at Philadelphia (Pa.) to D.E. Huger Smith informing him that he is sending Smith a bound copy of the proceedings for him to present to the South Carolina Historical Society. Two photographs are of a Quaker marriage certificate and include an explanation of the arrangement of names on the certificate.
